Wayne has served in the Presbyterian, Anglican and Union Churches. He has served in three parishes throughout New Zealand and in the Royal New Zealand Navy and the New Zealand Army Chaplaincies. He is a registered Justice of the Peace (JP) and was awarded a King Service Medal (KSM) in the New Years Honors on 31 December 2025 for his services to Pacific communities.
Wayne has spent time as the Moderator of the Northern Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church Aotearoa New Zealand.
